Virginia PTA 2021 Scholarship Program

May 24, 2021 (Richmond, VA) – Virginia PTA is proud to announce $1,000 college scholarship
awards to students across the state. They are:

  • Madeline Miles from Centerville High School in Fairfax County, who will attend
    University of Virginia and major in Biochemistry.
  • Tarun Ravikumar from Academies of Loudoun, who will attend Georgia Institute of
    Technology and major in Computer Science.
  • Daniel Phillips from Patrick Henry High School in Hanover County, who will attend The
    College of William and Mary and major in Physics and Engineering.
  • Morgan Wecht from Grassfield High School in Chesapeake, who will attend Elon
    University and major in Elementary Education.
“I am proud of these students’ dedication to their studies and the ways they work to make their
communities better,” said Virginia PTA President Pamela Croom. “Providing scholarships to
deserving students is one way the Virginia PTA makes every child’s potential a reality.”
Each student will receive $1,000 to assist with college tuition and expenses. Annually, the
Virginia PTA provides scholarships for graduating Virginia high school students from an active
PTA/PTSA in good standing. In keeping with the vision and mission of the PTA, these
scholarships are awarded based on a demonstrated commitment to, and engagement in,
volunteerism and community service.

Virginia PTA is proud to offer $1,000 scholarships to graduating Virginia high school students from an active PTA/PTSA in good standing. In keeping with the Vision and Mission of the PTA, these scholarships are awarded based on a demonstrated commitment to, and engagement in, volunteerism and community service. The number of scholarships awarded each year depends on proceeds of special Virginia PTA awards.
