Free Teacher Appreciation Week resources: Thank a Teacher campaign recognizing Virginia’s public school teachers one note at a time!

Teacher Appreciation Week (May 6-10) is right around the corner, and we’re partnering with the Virginia Lottery for the third year in a row to celebrate. With your support, more than 35,000 thank-you notes were sent to public school teachers across Virginia last year. Thank YOU!

In 2019, we know we can encourage people to send even more thank-you notes. As you organize your Teacher Appreciation Week activities, check out the resources from the Virginia Lottery. You can download the Thank a Teacher PTA Toolkit, which includes helpful resources such as email templates and posts you can share on social media.

Now is also the perfect time to order complimentary printed thank-you notes from the Lottery. This year’s notecards feature original designs from three public school students. Nearly 700 entries were received for the Virginia Lottery’s Thank a Teacher Art Contest. Here are the names of the students and links to their awesome artwork:

Elizaveta Godlevskaia, Fifth grade, Aldrin Elementary School, Fairfax County

Kaycie Colton, Seventh grade, Princess Anne Middle School, Virginia Beach

Alyssa Heath, 12th grade, Virginia High School, Bristol

Teachers who receive a thank-you note can enter for the chance to win one of two Virginia vacation packages courtesy of the Virginia Tourism Corporation.

The Thank a Teacher campaign kicks off on April 1. Visit https://thankateacherva.com/ for more details.
